A rare case report of complete transposition of the femoral artery and vein

    Get PDF
In the inguinal region at normal anatomical situation the artery is positioned lateral to vein and by this figure artery and vein get out under inguinal ligament and entrance to this region. Every surgeon (general surgeon, vascular surgeon or orthopaedic) that works at this region should know anatomical anomaly and variation of these vessels in inguinal region. Dissection at this region without knowing these variations could damage the vessels especially femoral artery. Some times this variations could induce compression on the vein and induce deep vein thrombosis. In this case while exploring femoral artery for transfemoral thrombectomy, femoral vein was found in the arteries anatomical position and complete transposition of artery and vein was founded. In conclusion, knowing normal variations and anomalies while dissecting this area helps us for lowering iatrogenic vascular trauma and complications.     &nbsp

An Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Momentum Strategies in Predicting Future Price Movements

    Get PDF
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the predictive power of ARMA/GARCH models through the implementation of a momentum strategy on all stocks traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and the NASDAQ stock market. The data series is tested for serial-correlation in their daily stock price returns, followed by several screening and filtering phases. A floating order ARMA/GARCH model is used to capture the signal from the noise in the data, which is used to forecast future prices. It is shown that the tickers that are successfully predictable carry their momentum into the short-term future. A trading strategy is then proposed and tested to validate the above market returns resulted from this predictive behavior of the tickers

Meaning of Life in Retirees: The Relationship of Personality Traits and Religious Attitude

    Get PDF
Introduction: Retirement is one of the most important spans of life especially in current times which aged population is growing fast and needs more attention. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between personality traits and religious attitudes with the meaning of life in retirees.  Methods: The present study was descriptive and correlational. The population included all inhabitants in Nahavand of Iran which 200 of them were selected by simple random sampling method. The research tools were NEO Five-Factor Inventory (NEO-FFI), Religious Attitude Scale (RAS) and Meaning of Life Questionnaire (MLQ). Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation and multiple regression analysis.  Results: The results showed that there was a significant relationship between personality traits and meaning of life (p<0.05). There was a significant negative relationship between neuroticism and meaning of life (p<0.05), and there were significant positive relationships between the meaning of life with extraversion, openness, agreeableness, and conscientiousness (p<0.05). There was also a significant positive relationship between religious attitude and meaning of life (p<0.05). The results of multiple regression analysis showed that agreeableness, conscientiousness, and religious attitude could explain 37% of the meaning of life variance significantly (p<0.05).  Conclusion: Overall the results showed that agreeableness, conscientiousness and religious attitude have important role in people’s sense of meaning in their lives. Voltammetric folic acid sensor based on nickel ferrite nanoparticles modified-screen printed graphite electrode

    Get PDF
In this study, an electrochemical sensor for the quantification of folic acid with voltammetric detection in physiological conditions was constructed. For this purpose, nickel ferrite (NiFe2O4) nanoparticles were used to modify the surface of a screen-printed graphite electrode (NiFe2O4/SPGE) and applied in the determination of folic acid. The modified electrode displays a strong electrochemical response to folic acid. Folic acid was determined electrochemically using the differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) technique with a detection limit of 0.09±0.001 µM in 0.2–147.0 µM linear range in phosphate buffer solution (PBS) at pH 7.0 with this NiFe2O4/SPGE sensor, which has the best electron transfer rate. Also, the sensitivity of the modified electrode was obtained as 0.1139 µA µM-1. The NiFe2O4/SPGE sensor was successfully applied for the determination of folic acid in real samples

THE RELATIONSHIP OF SKILL USE AND MOTIVATION OF SPORT COACHES IN HAMEDAN, IRAN

    Get PDF
Over the past decade, the rapid pace of skill into education has changed the way teaching and learning is conducted in higher education. However, this promising approach seems to be neglected about Hamedan sport coaches. This study investigated sport coaches’ motivation and practices of skill. To this end, eighty-eight sport coaches from three universities in Iran participated in this study. The data collection instrument measured coaches’ motivations, teaching methods, and skill use. The findings of the study indicated that Hamedan sport coaches held positive motivation toward the use of skill, yet a limited use of skill. The participants further reported several barriers in integrating skill in Hamedan physical education classes. It was also found that skill use positively and significantly correlated to coaches’ motivation. Based on the current study physical educators may be willing to apply skill teaching if given opportunities to prepare, practice and utilize appropriate resources.  Article visualizations

Building Management System for Supporting the repaired Building

Energy storage for updating of a new building represents an opportunity to estimate the costs that this issue should be considered in efficient buildings. Most old buildings have a lot of energy dissipations due to inappropriate control system and building components. According to the sustainable and durable development, repair of the buildings reduces energy consumption and improves the overall condition of the building. To attract the long-term saving of money and convenience of residents, technical innovation has been enhanced as a potential solution of this issue for many years and only computer tools are collected and their information is provided for required examinations. This paper explains improvement in the control and supervision of building services in Building Management System (BMS) and Building Information Modeling (BIM)
